How to Set Up Your Email Account on Android Device

If you are using a mobile device that works with the Android OS, you can use the default mail application to access your domain email account(s).

The default mail application on the iOS is called Mail or Email, depending on the Android release.

Before you set up your Android device to access your domain emails, you will need to first create your domain email account .

 

Setting up your domain email account on your Android device:

1. On your Android device, open the Email app.

 

2. Select Add a new account.

3. Enter your domain email address and password in the corresponding fields. Then, click Next.

4.  On the What type of account? screen, select IMAP Account.

*While Website.com offers both POP3 and IMAP, we recommend using IMAP as it gives you the ability to manage your emails from multiple devices or email clients.  

5. On the Incoming server settings screen, enter the following information:

  • Email address – enter the full address of the domain email account you are setting up on your phone (ie. you@yourdomain.com)
  • Password – enter the password of the domain email account you’re setting up
  • Username – enter the full domain email address (ie. you@yourdomain.com)
  • IMAP server – enter mail1.sitemailserver.com
  • Security type – SSL
  • Port – 143

When ready, tap Next.

6. On the Outgoing server settings screen, enter the following information:

  • SMTP server – enter mail1.sitemailserver.com
  • Security type – SSL
  • Port – 587 or 25
  • Require sign-in – you will need to check this box
  • Username – enter the full domain email address (ie. you@yourdomain.com)
  • Password – enter the password of the domain email account you’re setting up

When ready, click Next.

7. On the Accounts Options screen, you can select your preferred account options, including sync schedule, new email notification and more.

 

8. When ready, tap Next to complete the setup process.
