How to Set Up Your Email Account on iPhone
If you are using an iPhone or an iPad, you can use your phone’s default mail application to access your domain email accounts.
The default mail application on the iOS is called Mail.
Before you set up your iPhone to access your domain emails, you will need to first create your domain email account.
1. On your iPhone, open Settings.
2. Scroll down and open Mail.
3. Click Accounts.
4. Now, click "Add Account"
5. Scroll down and click Other.
6. Click Add Mail Account.
7. Enter your name, email address, password, and description. When ready, click Next.
8. Click on the IMAP tab. (Or, if you prefer POP3, click on the POP3 tab).
*While Website.com offers both POP3 and IMAP, we recommend using IMAP as it gives you the ability to manage your emails from multiple devices or email clients.
For the following sections, you will need to find the "Incoming Mail Server" and "Outgoing Mail Server" info. Here are the steps:
- Log into your Website.com Member Zone
- Click the "Access Admin Email" button.
- You're now redirected to the Website.com SmarterMail dashboard. In the SmarterMail dashboard, look to see the highlighted part of the URL in our screenshot below, before the forward flash (e.g. mail2.sitemailserver.com). Copy this part of the URL.
Once you have copied the URL from the SmarterMail dashboard, you can enter this URL for "Incoming mail server" and "Outoing mail server"
9. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter the following information:
- Host Name: paste the URL you've just copied from the SmarterMail dashboard
- User Name: enter the full email address of the email account you are setting up on your iPhone (ie. user@yourdomain.com)
- Password: enter the password for the email account
10. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter the following information:
- Host Name: paste the URL you've just copied from the SmarterMail dashboard
- User Name: enter the full email address of the email account you are setting up on your iPhone (ie. user@yourdomain.com)
- Password: enter the password for the email account
11. When ready, click Next. Your iPhone will need to verify your email account information. This process can take a couple minutes to complete. The checkmarks indicate a successful verification.
*If you see the Cannot Verify Server Identity error message, simply click Continue to retry the verification process. Contact us if you require further assistance.
12. Once your account has been verified, a new screen will load. Simply check that the Mail slider is ON. When ready, click Save.
Once you have successfully set up your domain email account on your iPhone, it will be listed under the Mail > Accounts screen. And, you’re all set! You can now open Mail to begin retrieving your email.
