Adding and Customizing a Video Strip
You can add a video strip to anywhere on your web page.
Adding a Video Strip element to your page:
From the left menu, click Add.
Select Strip. You will be presented with 4 strip choices: Color, Pattern, Image and Video. Click on the image under Video Strip.
Drag and drop the Video Strip element to the desired location on your web page.
To use a different video, see Changing the video of the Video Strip element below.
If you are adding the video strip to the page header or footer, by default, the video strip will only be added to that section on the current page you are working on. To show the video strip on all of your pages, enable the “Show On All Pages” toggle. To find the toggle, click on the video strip and click the “...” icon to open the panel box.
Changing the video of the Video Strip element:
Click on the strip, and then click Change Video in the mini toolbar.
Select the video you want to use from the File Manager window. You can choose a video from the My Videos library (which are videos you have uploaded to the Editor) or from the Website.com Stock Videos library. If you want to upload a new video, click the Upload icon.
After you have selected the video you want to use, click Use Video.
A screencap of your selected video is automatically created for you and set as your video poster. To change your video poster, see Changing the settings of the Video Strip element below.
Changing the style of the Video Strip element:
Click on the video strip, and click the “Style” (paintbrush icon) button in the mini toolbar to open the panel box.
If you want to change the video strip’s color overlay, use the color picker to select a new overlay color. After you have selected a color, click Use Color.
If you want to change the video strip’s pattern overlay, click on the desired pattern you would like to apply.
Changing the settings of the Video Strip element:
Click on the video strip. Click the “Settings” (gear icon) button in the mini toolbar to open settings in the panel box.
To position your video within the Video Strip element, click on the desired position in the position grid.
You can also choose to enable or disable looping of the video.
To add your own custom video poster, click Add. You can still switch back to using the screencap after, if desired.
Select the image you want to use from the File Manager window. If you want to upload a new image, click the Upload icon.
After you have selected the image you want to use, click Use Image.
Enabling video playback for the Video Strip element in mobile view:
By default, video playback for Video Strip elements is disabled in mobile view and only the video poster is shown; this is to protect your website visitors’ mobile data usage. To enable playback in mobile view, follow these steps:
Click on Mobile Editor, located at the top right corner of the Editor.
Click on the Video Strip element and then click Settings.
Check “Play video on mobile”.
